“Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12
We all face struggles, whether spiritual, physical, emotional, or financial. But what we sometimes forget is that there is beauty in the storm that we cannot see when we are in it. There is something powerful about the struggle in your journey. The greater the battle, the more powerful your testimony will be. If you let Him, God will show you, His purpose. Even if you cannot see it now, you will know in the end. These trials are here to help you grow in your faith, not hinder you.
“You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials.” 1 Peter 1:6
A storm is a violent disturbance in the atmosphere.
When God allows us to go through a storm that disrupts our lives and tests our faith, it is to forge us into stronger walkers and to show others the power of God. All struggles are necessary, but we must rejoice in them, for there is already victory.
Many people who are not sensitive to the Spirit may find themselves drowning in their storm. Whether you love Christ or not, every trial is designed for you. But, if you look around, those who follow his will have peace no matter what they face. You may be going through something right now, but you feel no peace. Why? Look inwardly. Are you in his will? Do you know what you must do, but fear the unknown? Are you not letting Him guide you? These are some of the questions you need to ask yourself. If you let God guide you, then there is no need for fear.
“Now I know that the Lord gives victory to his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with mighty victories from his right hand.” Psalms 20:6
When I find myself struggling, I always have to tell myself to step back and ask, ‘What is this situation teaching me?’ What is God showing me? If I cannot see an answer, I put my trust in him, and he comes through EVERY time. All you need to do is let go of everything that makes you feel like a failure. Because you are not. You are a child of the Most High. You have power, use it.
“Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4
Never envy someone else’s victories when all you see is your own struggle. No matter how long the battle, you will always overcome. Remember, the answers may come from unexpected places, and they may not be what you wanted. It may also look like you have failed when you have not. God will remove things in your life that may seem painful or uncomfortable, and not all struggles are from the enemy. He will be giving you something greater than you can imagine. So, walk in faith, your battle is changing you. The waters will not fill your lungs and choke you. God is holding you.
“Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves. Or do you yourselves not recognize that Jesus Christ is in you? — unless you fail the test.” 2 Corinthians 13:5
